Outside of an occasional monster popping up behind you, Doom was never really a horror game. It was a shooter with post-grunge, pre-nu metal intensity. The excellent Doom reboots, with their renewed focus on violent mayhem, demonstrate this very clearly. Doom was scary in the same way a Megadeth poster was scary, but MyHouse reimagines Doom’s legacy as a horror game. The pervasive atmosphere of dread in this MyHouse will not allow you a moment’s rest, and the language of shooters will not help you.

Enter water house and go to some room in the basement. Enter some room and leave and then i'm in some bathroom backrooms type shit. If I take the passage to Ruined House 1, then it's the same as I left it. I can still go from there to the brutalist section and repeat the whole second half of the map if needed, which would let me find artifacts I missed if there were any. Making maps of your house was all the rage back-in-the-day, but I feel like this is a pretty adorable and detailed tribute to my friend and a great way to share something of him with a community we loved. I don't believe it's possible to get the Soulsphere fairly, since it's clearly intended as a red herring to pull you outside. Once you see it through the window in Regular House 1, you can actually clip outside through the window and grab it. Then, when you go back into the house, you'll still be in the Regular House 1, and you'll see yet another Soulsphere outside the window -- it respawns. If you do this multiple times, it continues to respawn, and the item count goes up by one.

To play MyHouse, you must consent to your own haunting. So for something like MyHouse to exist is almost impossible. I played this on Sunday & I've got to say this is fantastic map. At first it seems like a typical My House WAD with a lot of Doom cute details, but it evolves into something so much more amazing. It's one of the most emotional & haunting maps I've ever played. For those of you who don’t know, Le Havre is the port that’s usually referred to as the ‘gateway to Paris’ even though it’s usually a 3-hour drive away. Each show was on 3x a night and most shows would be repeated two days in a row. I’m not exactly sure on the capacity of the theatre but it was quite big, that said with 5200 potential guests they need to make sure that everybody has a chance to see every show. P&O did have lots of information in the cabins about how everything worked onboard but I’m definitely one of those people who just tries things and works things out as I go. Iona has 3 ‘main’ restaurants where bookings ahead of time weren’t required.
